An older but still accessible ROP Family Joining Visa page continues to state that the expatriate spouse should hold a senior occupation under GCC standards, have rented accommodation and earn at least OMR 600. It also lists a labour form showing job and salary or a bank statement showing at least six months of salary transfers.

The responsible way to use these sources is not to pretend that one of them does not exist. The May 2026 Gov.om page is the more recent service summary and should be treated as the best current public overview. The older ROP page may reflect an earlier rule set, legacy documentation or checks that can still appear in some cases. Only the active application channel and ROP can confirm how a particular sponsor is assessed now.

Therefore, this guide does not state “you must earn OMR 600” as an unconditional current rule, and it does not invent a replacement salary. The older ROP page specifically says a marriage certificate used by a foreign employee to sponsor a spouse should be authenticated by Oman’s Foreign Ministry. It gives additional embassy and Ministry of Interior requirements for the foreign wife of an Omani citizen.

The May 2026 Gov.om Joining Relatives Visa summary does not list a medical certificate. The older ROP page lists an approved medical certificate for adults arriving from specified countries. Separately, the Ministry of Health’s current medical-fitness service says children under 16 do not need its form for a visit or residence visa. These pages address different stages and are not a safe basis for saying that every family applicant either must or need not complete a medical examination.
